Minor Passport - Re-issue of Indian Passport (36 pages, 5 years validity)

A minor child below 15 years of age is issued a passport with five years validity or till the minor attains the age of 18 years. Children between the ages of 15 and 18 have the option to apply for a minor passport valid until he/she attains 18 years of age or a full validity passport (10 years).

  • Duly filled online application form (printout) available at: https://mportal.passportindia.gov.in/mission/
  • All particulars in the application should tally with those in the current passport.
  • The application must be signed by both parents. The child should affix his/her signature or thumb impression in the signature box.
  • Passport will be retained during the period of the service.

Documents Required for Re-issue:

  • Duly completed and printed application form.

  • Current Passport in original along with self-attested copies of first (personal particulars), last (address) pages, visa page, and UK eVisa (online status) with share code.

  • Self-attested copies of passports and UK eVisa (online status) with share code(s) of both parents.

  • Self-attested copy of Birth Certificate.

  • Annexure D: To be filled by parents (Download Annexures).

  • Annexure C: Required in case of a single parent. If custody order is not available, it must be notarized. Note: Single parent applications are not accepted under 'Tatkaal' scheme.

  • Declaration for change in appearance for minor applicants.

  • Change of Address: Self-attested copy of address proof (Election ID, bills, or bank statement). [Note: Redacted Government ID is also accepted]. For minors, a parent's passport copy is sufficient.


Fresh Passport for New Born Child

A new passport is issued to children born in the UK to Indian parent(s). The child’s birth must be first registered with the Indian High Commission/Consulate within one year from the date of birth.

Documents Required for Fresh Passport:

  • Duly completed and printed application form.

  • Self-attested copy of UK eVisa (online status) with share code (if available).

  • Self-attested copy of Birth Registration Certificate issued by the Indian High Commission or Consulate.

  • Self-attested copy of Birth Certificate issued by the UK authority.

  • Self-attested copies of Passports (first & last pages) and UK eVisa with share code(s) of both parents.

  • Annexure D: Signed by both parents (signatures must match passports).

  • Self-attested copy of Marriage Certificate of parents.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Physical presence of the child is not mandatory.

  • Both parents are required to visit the VFS Centre with their original passports.

  • If both cannot visit, one parent can visit with original passports of both and an authority letter from the other parent.

  • Both parents MUST sign the application in the relevant column.
